Members of the Beverly Hills Women’s Club who took part in the club’s recent trip to Cuba, pose with The Courier in the famed La Guarida restaurant, featured in a key scene in the film Strawberry and Chocolate.
During the weeklong trip, the women visited the newly opened American embassy and were presented with T-shirts by U.S. Marines to commemorate their visit.
Three hours outside of Havana, by boat, they visited the Great Cavern of Santo Tomas , the largest underground cave system in the western hemisphere; the original spot where the pirates of the Caribbean hid their loot and now a UNESCO world site.
Cocktails at the , and visits to new contemporary artists of Havana were also part of the activities.
