Police Investigate Santa Monica Blvd Robbery
Beverly Hills Police continue to investigate the attempted robbery of a cell phone store early Friday on South Santa Monica Boulevard.
Sgt. Mike Foxen said officers received an alarm call shortly before 6 a.m. and when they arrived the found an open window at the rear of the building at 9669 S. Santa Monica Blvd.
Foxen said once officers entered the building, they discovered the suspects had tunneled through a wall into an adjacent AT&T store.
“Several tools were left behind,” Foxen told The Courier. “The suspects were scared off by the alarm.”
He said South Santa Monica Boulevard was closed between Bedford and Roxbury drives until about 7:30 a.m. while officers “searched to make sure no one was in the building.”
The investigation is ongoing, authorities said. Foxen said as of late Friday no suspects have been identified.
