BB King To Receive Inaugural ASYM Trailblazer Award In Las Vegas
Holmby Hills’ resident and blues great B.B. King will be honored by the American Society of Young Musicians at its inaugural ASYM Music Awards on Oct. 20 in the Las Vegas House of Blues.
King will be joined by other musical artists to receive the award, which is to now be bestowed annually upon a musical pioneer “whose unique contribution to music, through their creativity, longevity, and advocacy of other burgeoning artists, has inspired the music community and laid a foundation, which up-and-coming artists aspire to follow.”
A musical and business entrepreneur, B.B. King’s career has spanned decades and has influenced countless rockers from The Rolling Stones and The Beatles to John Mayer, Eric Clapton, and Lenny Kravitz. Named one of the 100 greatest guitarists of all time by Rolling Stone magazine, he continues to tour and has expanded his B.B. King Blues club franchises to include restaurants in Nashville, Orlando, and Memphis.
The American Society of Young Musicians is comprised of musicians, music students, artist advocates, and individuals nationwide, who share a common commitment to the enrichment and advancement, both educationally and artistically, of promising young artists.
