Fire rips through Culver City home; occupant on vacation
Fire ripped through a home near Culver City today, a day after the occupant left for vacation.
The blaze in the 5800 block of West Smiley Drive was reported at 4:24a.m., a fire department dispatcher said.
Flames burned through the roof of the home before crews extinguished the fire at 4:42 a.m., a video crew at the scene reported.
Firefighters searched the home and declared it unoccupied.
Neighbors told RMG News the occupant of the home owns a boat, and the occupant left with the boat Friday to go on vacation.
The cause of the fire was being investigated.“
