Amanda Bynes Arrested in WeHo Under Suspicion of DUI
Actress Amanda Bynes was arrested today in West Hollywood on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol.
Bynes, 26, was arrested about 3 a.m. after the black BMW she was driving allegedly struck a sheriff’s patrol car that was stopped at the intersection of Robertson and Santa Monica boulevards, said sheriff’s Lt. William Nash of the West Hollywood Station. No one was hurt.
Bynes was booked at the West Hollywood Station on suspicion of DUI, according to the sheriff’s department. Bail initially had been set at $5,000, but Bynes was released on a citation late this morning without having to post bail, a sheriff’s lieutenant said.
Nash said the sheriff’s patrol car was stopped while northbound on Robertson Boulevard, preparing to turn right onto Santa Monica Boulevard, when “Bynes attempted to pass to the right of the radio car.”
“Bynes’ car allegedly collided with the right rear quarter panel of the radio car,” Nash said. “There was minor paint transfer damage to both vehicles. An investigation was conducted at the scene, and … Bynes was subsequently arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol.”
Bynes starred in the series “What I Like About You” and appeared in films including “What a Girl Wants,” “Hairspray” and “Easy A.”
