Betty White Brings Down the House at Beverly Hills High School Alumni Hall of Fame Dinner
Betty White (Class of 39’) showed up to a packed Beverly Hilton ballroom & took her rightful place in the history books as the inaugural inductee of the Beverly Hills High School Performing Arts Alumni Hall of Fame. Upon her arrival, Steven Fenton slipped the coveted hall of fame letterman’s jacket on her. Then, the indomitable Ms. White belted out an impromptu rendition of the Beverly High fight song. She had the entire ballroom on its feet applauding as she hit every note of the song.
Besieged by two separate power outages throughout the night, nothing could stop what many people felt was the best hall of fame dinner in the 6 year history of BHAAA. Without a microphone or lights, master of ceremonies Leeza Gibbons took to the stage with a bullhorn and flashlight to move the evening along.
A short while later, the lights came back on and ambassador Nicole Avant, Mayor Willie Brien, Horace Mann principal Steve Kessler, Sandy Marks, Keri Frankenstein, David Weber and Betty White made up the elite eight who entered this year’s hall of fame.
The profits from this year’s event went to the Beverly high athletic & performing arts departments as well as the alumni association.
