Wisconsin Wins Lawry’s “Beef Bowl” For Second Straight Year
By Matt Lopez
For the second straight year, the Wisconsin football team defeated its Pac-12 foe in the 57th annual “Beef Bowl” at Lawry’s The Prime Rib in Beverly Hills.
Wisconsin’s team downed 619 pounds of meat. A far cry from the 723 pounds it consumed last year against Oregon, but still enough to defeat the Stanford football team, which ate a combined 602 pounds of meat.
The winner of the Lawry’s Beef Bowl has gone on to win the Rose Bowl game 70 percent of the time. Wisconsin, however, has lost its last two Rose Bowl appearances.
Wisconsin and Stanford will meet in the 99th Rose Bowl on Jan. 1 at 1:30 p.m.
