Charlotte Olympia Dellal
The Coolest Girl With The Hottest Shoes
Charlotte Olympia, with its luxurious-yet-playful shoes and accessories, has become the most talked about brand since Christian Louboutin dazzled us with his must-have red soles. Charlotte Olympia Dellal launched her London- based shoe brand in January 2008 and quickly became a hit with the coolest fashionistas in Europe —including Kate Moss and Daphne Guinness. Her designs became synonymous with classic sophistication, a bit of humor, and of course, her signature gold spider’s web on the sole. She gave her creations names like “Dolly, Harlow and Mae West”, all inspired by the bygone era of old-Hollywood glamour. “Everyone has a favorite era,“ says Charlotte Olympia Dellal, “and mine is the old Hollywood glamour of the forties and fifties.” In fact, Charlotte herself looks like a silver-screen siren, with her blonde side-part, flawless red lips and bombshell body – one could easily imagine her sitting in a leather booth with Frank and Dean sipping a martini.
For Pre-Fall 2013 Charlotte will premier her newest collection “Hollywoodland” and what better place to do it than in her new Rodeo Drive boutique scheduled to open early May. The 1,250-square-foot space will be her third and largest – she also has stores in London’s Mayfair and Manhattan’s Madison Avenue – and will feature a cinematic show of glamorous designs that include Swarovski embellished Dolly Puttin’ on the Glitz platforms, and a Box Office Pandora clutch with film reel inspired details. Currently Neiman Marcus Beverly Hills carries a selection of the brand’s trademark 145 mm high platforms, jaunty wedges in delightful colors and the satin silhouettes of the Runway Bride bridal collection; and soon her entire collection will be available at her personal boutique.
This awards season stars like Sofia Vergara, Jessica Chastain and Julianne Moore tossed their Louboutin’s in favor of Charlotte Olympia and as the label continues to develop its product lines we’re sure to see more little gold spider webs on the soles of fashion’s coolest girls.
