Actor Philip Seymour Hoffman died of a lethal mix of drugs, including heroin, cocaine, benzodiazepines and amphetamine reported the New York medical examiner’s office today.
Hoffman was found dead February 2 on his bathroom floor in his New York apartment with a needle in his left arm.
Nearly 50 envelopes that were labeled “Ace of Spades” were found in the apartment, all believed to have been filled with heroin, reported police. Prescription drugs, used syringes and other drug paraphernalia were also in the apartment.
Hoffman has been expected to retrieve his children from school that day and did not show up. Friend playwright David Katz went to the apartment and found him dead. He was in a tee-shirt and shorts with his eyeglasses on his head.
