SiliconBeachClearly: The New Drizly App
Forget raining men, it’s now raining booze in Los Angeles. Thanks to the new Drizly app that launched in L.A. in late May, alcohol delivery is now more accessible to thirsty drinkers across the city (it’s long been a thing in places like WeHo).
The marketers will tell you it’s about traffic avoidance, but when this really comes in handy is during parties for hosts who failed to plan ahead. Instead of unleashing an over-the-limit search party, let the professional drivers safely do all of the work — they are employed through the retail stores, not the app.
Drizly boasts a large network of liquor store partners, and currently serves the neighborhoods of Culver City, Hollywood, Beverly Hills, Koreatown, the Miracle Mile, Silver Lake, Venice, and Westwood. Delivery time typically takes less than one hour (unless it’s a peak time, more like 20-40 minutes).
L.A. now joins New York City, Boston, and Chicago as Drizly’s starter set of cities, following its nearly $5 million dollar seed investment.
Drizly is compatible with both iPhones and Droids, and may be downloaded free of charge. Through the end of the month, new users can use the following promo code for $10 off their first order: “WELCOMELA.”
And lest this story fall into the hands of anyone under legal drinking age, the Forensic Verification technology ensures that carding is still alive and well in the 21st century. Sorry, kids. Don’t try this at home.
