The City of Beverly Hills celebrated the Grand Reopening of Roxbury Park Sunday with a ribbon-cutting ceremony, food, family-friendly activities, building tours and refreshments. Thousands of residents and friends turned out for the occasion on a perfect late-spring day.
Mayor Lili Bosse, newly returned from her two weeks on a Mayors Mission to China, welcomed the new park center with gusto. “Its finally here!” exclaimed the Mayor to enthusiastic applause from a friendly audience of well-wishers, curious onlookers and happy residents.
The recreation center groundbreaking took place in May, 2013. The new construction was completed in less than one year.
The building boasts a brand new catering kitchen, an exercise studio, multi-purpose room, crafts center, library, meeting rooms and more.
The day also celebrated the dedication of a renovated soccer field with brand new sod, irrigation and striping.
