The Mayor of the City of West Hollywood, John D’Amico, announced his endorsement today for Bobby Shriver, candidate for 3rd District Los Angeles County Supervisor’s seat, now held by Zev Yaraslovsky.
Shriver is the former mayor of Santa Monica and nephew of the late president, John F. Kennedy. He is running against fellow Democrat Sheila Kuehl for the seat.
“We need a supervisor who understands local government and the challenges that a community like ours faces,” D’Amico said in a press release.
John Duran, a West Hollywood City Councilman, came in third in the primary race for supervisor. He has yet to endorse a candidate, but joined Shriver for the LA Pride Festival earlier this month.
