Beverly Hills News – Getty President Awards Lord Rothschild the Second Annual J. Paul Getty Medal

Getty President and CEO James Cuno announced today that the 2014 J. Paul Getty medal for extraordinary achievement in the fields of museology, art historical research, philanthropy, conservation and conservation science will go to Lord Rothschild OM GBE.
Rothschild has served as Chairman of the National Gallery of Art, the National Heritage Memorial Fund, Pritzker Prize for Architecture, Trustee and Honorary Fellow of the Courtauld Institute of Art, Trustee of the State Hermitage Museum of St. Petersburg and the Qatar Museums Authority.
The award will be given to Lord Rothschild at a gala dinner on November 9.
The J. Paul Getty Medal was established in 2013 by the Trustees of the J. Paul Getty Trust to recognize living in individuals worldwide for their leadership in the fields in which the Getty works. The first recipients were Harold M. Williams and Nancy Englander, honored “for their leadership in creating the Getty as it exists today,” said the Getty.
