Pucker – Up, Pickle Lovers! The Best Dill in Beverly Hills is Here!

Beverly Hills Farmers’ Market celebrated the Second Annual Pickle Fest Sunday, adorning resident Melani Shaum with the honor of having the Best Dill Pickle In Beverly Hills!

Shaum was awarded a $200 gift certificate at Nate’n Als, the iconic deli that started it all with a pickle. Shaum has won the Summer Grand Slam of Beverly Hills, said Council member and pickle judge John Mirisch. She also won a First Prize in Piesta!

The judges Sunday included Simone Friedman, vice chair of the Recreation and Parks Commission; David Mendelson, owner of Nate’n Als Delicatessen, Joseph Shuldiner, Director of the Institute of Domestic Technology and author of “Pure Vegan” and Bouquet Veprin, last year’s 1st Place Winner in the “I Can Pickle That!” category at Pickle Fest.

In that event, the winners this year are Charlene Huston, 1st Place and a $100 Gift Certificate at Nate’n Als; Bouquet Veprin, 2nd Place and a $75 Gift Certificate at Nate’n Als and Whitney Hunter, 3rd Place and a $50 Gift Certificate at Nate’n Als.

For the Best Dill Pickle, Ron Sqsiela won 3rd Place and a $50 Gift Certificate and Jonny Pasvolsky won 2nd Place and a $100 Gift Certificate  at Nate’n Als.

The Beverly Hills Farmers’ Market will be celebrating 20 years in the City with a harvest festival.
