End Of An Era On Saturday: Henry Waxman Completes 20 Terms As The Area’s Congressman

On Jan. 3, Rep. Ted Lieu will assume his seat in the United States Congress, taking over the seat that Rep. Henry Waxman (D-Beverly Hills) has held for 40 years in the 33rd District.
Waxman, 74, has been credited with passing some significant liberal legislation, including the Infant Formula Act of 1980, the Family Smoking Prevention and Tobacco Control Act of 2009, and the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act of 2010.
