On January 28, 2015, Charlie, a local maltese known to the community was stolen from the 200 Block of South Beverly Drive. Surveillance video from a business showed that a lady with a child picked up Charlie and fled the area.

On January 30, 2015, following up on leads generated by the media, Beverly Hills Police Detectives responded to the City of Lynwood and contacted a subject that was in possession of Charlie. Charlie was reunited with his family and is on his way back to Beverly Hills.

No arrests were made today; the investigation is still ongoing by the Beverly Hills Police Department.

Celebrities Hillary Duff and George Lopez were among the many who launched an all-out social media campaign to help locate little Charlie, making him a local celebrity as well!

“I just want him back,” said Julia Cohen, Charlie’s owner, and the co-owner of Switch, a Beverly Hills boutique. Charlie spent his days stationed outside the store, greeting customers.  A $2,000 reward was offered for his safe return.
