Thousands will gather from across Southern California as faith leaders, activists, survivors and supporters come together Sunday to join the Walk to End Genocide.

Temple Emanuel of Beverly Hills takes a strong lead in organizing and supporting this event. Temple Emanuel fully supports the mission of the Walk to End Genocide. Temple members are a significant and committed community of Beverly Hills residents. Many contribute funds; many others join the walk.

This will be Jewish World Watch’s 9th Annual Walk to End Genocide, historically the largest anti-genocide rally in the United States. The event coincides with the 100th Anniversary of the Armenian genocide and the 70th Anniversary of the Liberation of Auschwitz, a culmination of tragic events that will be commemorated at the event.

A diverse group of community leaders with a multi-faith coalition will walk together to inspire communities around the world and to raise funds for advocacy and to support survivors of the conflicts in Sudan and Congo.

“In commemorating the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide and the 70th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz, we must confront the sad truth that too many in the international community continue to stand idly by as genocides and mass atrocities plague our planet, “said Janice Kamenir-Reznik, the co-Founder and President of Jewish World Watch. “This Walk provides an important opportunity for people of conscience across Southern California from different backgrounds and faiths to join with our elected leaders – and turn the words ‘Never Again’ into action.”

The Walk to End Genocide will take place in Pan Pacific Park (7600 Beverly Blvd., Los Angeles, Ca, 90036) Sunday, April 19, from        9 a.m. – 1 p.m.
