Beverly Hills News – 2015 Special Olympics World Games Brings Torch to Beverly Hills Today

All are welcome to join the athletes and sponsors at 455 N. Rexford Drive at 4:15 to cheer the torch bearers on as Host Town Beverly Hills welcomes the 2015 Special Olympics World Games Torch Run Ceremony . Mayor Julian Gold will officiate over the ceremony. 

Beverly Hills is Host Town to athletes from Gibraltar and Monaco.

Over 7,000 athletes representing 177 countries around the world will be participating, with 3,000 coaches and 30,000 volunteers.

Several events will precede the opening day Saturday at the Coliseum, both public and private. This will be the public’s first opportunity to welcome the athletes and to cheer them on, so everyone is encouraged to participate in this historic event as Los Angeles hosts the world games.

Athletes will also attend Concerts on Canon Thursday evening at 6 p.m., followed by a private dinner at the Wallis.
