Updated: Thursday, February 4, 2016 – 2:50 PM
Debora Alessi, founder/CEO of Beverly Hills-based Face Forward, and local philanthropist Annette Shapiro are among eight women who have joined author/filmmaker Catherine Gray in launching the latter’s 360Karma.com, aimed at promoting the empowerment of women.
Others are Ann Boroch, a health and wellness expert; Christina Baldwin, a former Navy Seal who now trains Olympians; Beverleye Hyman Fead, 14-year cancer survivor and author of Aging In High Heels; Bonnie Bruckheimer, long-time producing partner of Bette Midler; Heidi Shink, human rights/community activist and author; and entrepreneur Karen Reed, who is starting a new National Singles Day holiday.
“The focus of 360Karma is for women to help each other reach their highest potential, so as to create powerful positions of influence. The result will be cultivating more female CEOs, politicians, and business owners,” Gray said. “Currently, a range of women and their incredible true stories are featured on the site, with visitors invited to nominate others to be included.”
A fundraising campaign to support the 360Karma venture will kick off Saturday, Feb. 6, from 2 to 5 p.m., with a disco-themed party at The Mint, 6010 W. Pico Blvd., featuring disco recording artist Pamala Stanley. Visit: www.360Karma.com.
