At yesterday morning’s PTA Council meeting, Beverly Hills parents voted to officially have the PTA endorse Measure Y. The $260 million General Obligation school-building bond must pass by two-thirds (66.7 percent) of the City’s voters in order to take effect.

Beverly Hills News – Christiansen’s Latest Verdict Nears Day In Court Of Appeal

In a 101-page response brief filed Friday, attorneys for Karen Christiansen, the former Beverly Hills Unified School District Chief Facilities Officer, argued that she and her company were not subject to the reach of Government Code Section 1090, like other district employees, because she was being paid as a consultant. As such, the brief argues, last year’s verdict against her, which now has her owed in excess of $22 million, should stand.
