The City of Beverly Hills will have to pay more than $9,000 in attorney’s fees to settle a public records lawsuit filed by journalist Russell Carollo for the release of police records related to alleged domestic abuse by Beverly Hills Mayor John.
On Tuesday, the City agreed to release the information and to pay $9,357.50 to Carollo for his legal expenses to “avoid risk and expense of litigation,” without admitting fault or liability.
In the settlement, the City agreed to release the records, which included un-redacted incident reports on three separate occasions when the police visited the Mirisch home on Clark Drive in 2008, 2010 and 2011.
