It’s the season for giving, and El Rodeo eighth grader Elliot Katz is doing his best to give back to those in the community who need it most.

From Nov. 27 to Dec. 11, Katz is hosting an online auction to benefit a charity he personally founded to help those in the local homeless community.

The online auction can be accessed via  Katz’s charity’s website at:, where people can donate, see a list of donors and get more information on where their contributions go.

Reaching Out California is Katz’s 501(c)(3) charity aimed at helping homeless people in Greater Los Angeles. Katz said his parents have been taking him and his siblings to the Midnight Mission on Skid Row to serve meals at least once or twice a year for the past several years.
