Beverly Hills News – Planning Commission to Look at Plans for 331 Oakhurst and 9171 Third StreetA
The Beverly Hills Planning Commission will review Requests for Variances on two projects located at 331 N. Oakhurst and 9171 Third Street, on either side of a small, one-story single-family home that is just over 1,000 square feet.
The buildings were rejected in January by the Planning Commission for multiple reasons, the most conspicuous being that the proposed projects were set to be three stories in height, which would have a devastating impact on the existing home between them. In addition, on one of the properties the developer was seeking a rooftop sundeck that would have affected the neighbor’s privacy, and both buildings sought variances in parking.
The proposed projects will be reduced in height, include basement space and still require reduced parking and rear, side and front setbacks. The Oakhurst project is requesting nine variances; the Third Street project has eight.
The proposal is designed by architect Hamid Gabbay for owner David Ramin.
The Planning Commission will meet on Thursday at 1:30 p.m.
