Kike Hernández clubbed three home runs Thursday, including a grand slam, to power the Dodgers to their first World Series trip since 1988 with a 11-1 win over the Cubs in Game 5 of the National League Championship Series.

The Dodgers scored a run in each of the first two innings, but broke the game open during a five-run third inning that saw Hernández smack a grand slam off Cubs starter Jose Quintana.

Hernández became the first Dodgers player to ever hit three home runs in a playoff game.

The offensive barrage made it an easy night for Clayton Kershaw, who allowed one run on three hits over six innings with five strikeouts.

The World Series will begin Tuesday at Dodger Stadium, where the Dodgers will host either the Yankees or the Astros.
