What a night under the stars… Had there been an Oscar for “Best Party of the Year,” “Best Personal Assistant of the Year,” and “Best Party Planner of the Year,” it would surely go to Stanley Black, Alisa Shapiro, and Danny Fisk for the incredible event celebrating Stanley’s 85th, son Jack’s 60th and granddaughter Torie’s 30th, held in the backyard of Stanley’s magnificent estate…pure perfection and execution.

Some 940 guests enjoyed the Brazilian themed blast that started with a cocktail reception with samba dancers, stilt walkers and the Duo Design Olympian acrobats. With a lead-covered dance floor over the pool, we whirled to the sounds of John Michael Hydo and also savored Calè, a Latin fusion musical group.

During dinner we enjoyed more samba dancers and dancing waiters, 200 strong there to meet our every wish.

We were welcomed by Rabbi David Baron and Stanley’s daughters Jill and Janis, son Jack and grandchildren Zack, Torie, Jason, Jenna and Brittany, who all spoke lovingly about their dad or grandfather and their late mother or grandmother Joyce…  They are planting a special tree in the area we were sitting that attracts butterflies which Joyce loved.  They called Stanley up to speak along with his gal pal Joan Ashton (looking gorgeous in blue).  After he welcomed us and thanked us for coming, he had Joan say a couple of words among which she thanked his children for introducing her to Stanley at which point he shouted out: “After my wife passed away.”  We all burst into laughter.

Friends of Stanley came in from Acapulco, Mexico City, Switzerland, New York, Israel, Florida… and even Pasadena… to join in the celebration.

Spotted among the many guests were Janis’ husband Doug Warner, Jack’s wife Joanie, Jill’s beau Marvin Caesar, and Joan Ashton’s daughter Stacey Friedman, and her sister Arlene Gaines.

Spotted among the guests were June Winkler, Betty Hollingsworth, Virginia Plumb and Mike Starkman, Michael Boyer, Henry and Arline Gluck, Elaine and Peter Bernard, Christine and Jerry Axelrod, Renee Kumetz and Bob Hirsch, Helen Rosen and Donald Kaufman, Lee Barab and Arnie Mills, Lyn and Laurie Konheim, Jerry Epstein and Linda Oschin, Chuck Zerah and fiancé Carrie Pollock, Bruce Cohen, Robert Bentley and Gary Rado, Betty and Truman Touchstone, Grace Scherer, Beverly and Bob Cohen, Jan and Gregg Fields, Carol and Lee Baca, Ila and Len Krane, Shana Forman, Marlene Kreedman, Barbara and Arthur Lewis, Steve Taub, Josh Flagg and Bobby Boyd, Phyliss Parvin and Sheldon Staten,  Jacqueline Bell, Enid Rom and Joel David, Ronnie Kassorla and Robert Rock, Maddy Flier, Margaret Dresden, Simone Katzoff, Lois Fields and Jack Heller, Marilyn Heller, Gil Garcetti, Bernardo Puccio and Orin Kennedy, Paula Abdul, Judy and Dr. Jay Sher, Cindy and Bob Williams, Gloria and David Levisohn, Linda Schwartz and Lynn Ziman.  I could go on and on but the list would be endless.
