College Notes—Local Students Recognized At Bowdoin College, Northeastern University, Harvey Mudd College & USC

Three Beverly Hills residents were recently initiated into The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi, the nation’s oldest and most selective collegiate honor society for all academic disciplines.
The local students, all attending the University of Southern California, are: Ashley Soleimani, Robin Sax and Thelma Petrucci .
The residents are among approximately 30,000 students, faculty, professional staff and alumni to be initiated into Phi Kappa Phi each year. Membership is by invitation and requires nomination and approval by a chapter. Only the top 10 percent of seniors and 7.5 percent of juniors are eligible for membership. Graduate students in the top 10 percent of the number of candidates for graduate degrees may also qualify, as do faculty, professional staff and alumni who have achieved scholarly distinction.

Victoria Yu of Beverly Hills, and a member of the Bowdoin College class of 2019, received the Paul H. Douglas Prize at the school’s 22nd annual Honors Day.
The May 9 event honored students and faculty for academic accomplishments.
Yu is a government and legal studies and economics major and a mathematics minor at the school in Brunswick, Maine.

Zoe Kenealy of Beverly Hills was named to the spring 2018 dean’s list at Northeastern University in Boston, Mass.
To be named to the list , students must carry a full program of at least four courses with a GPA of 3.5 or greater.

Anthony Romm of Beverly Hills graduated from Harvey Mudd College in Claremont, CA on May 13.
Romm received a bachelor of science degree with a major in computer science and economics, graduating with distinction and departmental honors in computer science.
Romm attended The Buckley School.
