The Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation will honor former Beverly Hills Mayor Nancy Krasne and actor Tyler James Williams at its “Guts & Glory Gala” from 6:30 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 13 in The Beverly Hilton.
Krasne has had a long and overflowing career serving our Beverly Hills community. She was chair and vice chair on the Architectural Commission for several years before her election to the City Council and then mayor in 2010. Before that, she devoted her life to philanthropy, serving on several boards and volunteering her time to many charities.
Williams is mostly recognized for his role as the title character in Everybody Hates Chris, and has appeared in The Walking Dead and Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders, plus the upcoming ABC drama series Whiskey Cavalier. As a recently diagnosed Crohn’s disease patient, he has become a passionate patient advocate.
The “Guts & Glory Gala” will feature a chef’s tasting menu, live and silent auctions, and a full program. Proceeds will support research, education, and support groups, including Camp Oasis, for those with Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis.
Chairing the event is Melissa Mitchell with Caryl Golden, Cathy Greenly, PJ Lewis and Michael Semler as her executive committee members.
Serving on the gala committee are Hope Anisgarten, Cecelia Assaf, Steve Basilone, Shawn Lacey Bullen, Masha Chase, Dina Cohen, Bobbe Joy Dawson, Alexis Day, Jaye Eigler, Judy Felsenthal, Josh Green, Darren Greenly, Brittany Greenly, Morgan Handel, Ryan Handel, Evelyn Heyward, Shari Kairey-Cohen, Lori Lasman, Dayna Lerner, Claire Levine, Suzann Levine, Amanda Lewis, Ronda Lippman, Ashley Morrow, Bari Milken-Bernstein, Jason Mitchell, Mandy Mitchell, Lisa Neipris, Darcy Praw, Sydnee Rimes, Stephanie Sandler, Roxy Sowlaty, Tara Sowlaty, and Alyssa Weinberger.
The non-profit Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation is a volunteer-driven organization dedicated to finding the cures for Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis, which affects 1.6 million Americans.
