The proposed 27-unit luxury condominium project planned on the site of the old Friar’s Club will return for a public hearing next Wednesday during a special meeting of the Planning Commission.
The project at 9908 South Santa Monica Blvd. was granted a continuance in January by Planning Commission Vice Chair Andy Licht and commissioners Joe Shooshani and Alan Block.
The applicant, Cliff Goldstein, who purchased the property in 2014, was represented by former mayor Tom Levyn in January when his project was granted a continuance for the Residential Overlay Zone it seeks to construct a five-story, 27-unit condo structure with a ground floor of retail space.
The project as presently proposed would include 13,036 square feet of ground floor commercial space.
The special meeting is set for Wednesday, Aug. 8 at 7 p.m. in the City Council chambers at City Hall. Questions can be submitted ahead of time to Masa Alkire in the Planning Division at 310-285-1135 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
