Police, Potties, Portals And Particulates: City Council Set To Approve Metro MOA

The Beverly Hills City Council is set to approve a Memorandum of Understand- ing (MOA) with Metro for the Wilshire/Rodeo Station and tunnel construction on Section 2 of the Purple Line pending the settlement of two lawsuits and Metro’s Board approval.

At the City Council meeting Tuesday evening, public comment reflected a concern that security for the proposed station be provided by the Beverly Hills Police Department at Metro’s expense; that restrooms be provided in the station for arriving passengers; that students at Beverly Hills High School be protected from particulates, pollutants in the air and underground abandoned wells; and that a Metro portal be on the north side of Wilshire in the business district.
