It’s a “Killer Queen” weekend at the nation’s movie theaters Sunday, as “Bohemian Rhapsody” and two other movie debuts are pushing Hollywood to a 10.7 percent increase in receipts this year over last.

The saga of the flaming-hot ’80s rock band Queen thrust to the top of the box office race, with a $50 million debut.

“A much bigger than expected $50 million debut,” concluded comCast analyst Paul Dergarbedian. “The film earned $72.5 million from the international marketplace, for a global debut of $122.5 million.”

Disney’s “Nutcrackr And The Four Realms” opened in second place, with $20 million in tickets sold for the PG-rated animation.

And another Tyler Perry fall comedy, “Nobody’s Fool,” opened at $14 million in estimated sales for the three days ending at close of business Sunday evening.

Rounding out the top 10 releases in the U.S. and Canada, as estimated by the studios and reported by comScore, were “A Star Is Born” ($11.1 million), “Halloween” ($11 million), “Venom” ($7.9 million), “Smallfoot” ($3.8 million), `Goosebumps 2: Haunted Halloween` ($3.7 million), “Hunter Killer” ($3.5 million) and  “The Hate U Give” ($3.4 million).
