Citizen Beverly Hills, which opened in 2016 as a trendy happy hour destination for locals, closed its doors sometime last week.

No public reason has been given for its closure, although it continues a troubling recent trend of fairly prominent Canon Drive restaurants that have closed over the last year, including Geoffrey Zakarian’s Georgie, and Bouchon.

Citizen opened in the summer of 2016 as the brainchild of chef Scott Howard in the former site of Spaghettini and the Dave Koz Lounge. Citizen ended up surviving just a little bit longer than Spaghettini did in the location.
