Weekend Box Office: ‘Lego Movie 2’ Opens As Top-Grossing Film

“Lego Movie 2: The Second Part” debuted as the top-grossing movie at the North American box office this weekend, taking in $35 million Friday through Sunday at theaters in the United States and Canada, according to industry estimates out Sunday.

The comedy “What Men Want” opened in second place with an estimated $19 million, according to Comscore.

The action film “Cold Pursuit” was third with $10.8 million.

The Kevin Hart/Bryan Cranston comedy “The Upside” was in fourth place with an estimated $7.2 million.

M. Night Shyamalan’s “Glass,” which had been the top-grossing film for the previous three weekends, fell to fifth place with $6.4 million.

Rounding out the top 10 releases were “The Prodigy” ($6 million), “Green Book” ($3.5 million), “Aquaman” ($3.3 million), “Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse” ($3 million) and “Miss Bala” ($2.7 million).
