Feuer Bill Would Fast-Track Rail Projects In California

Assemblyman Mike Feuer (D-Beverly Hills) just introduced a bill in the State Assembly to delete many of the environmental protections of the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) litigation for all rail projects throughout the State, potentially including the Metro Westside Subway Extension and its’ tunnel under Beverly Hills High School. Feuer’s bill mirrors the LALive-sponsored fast track bill for a proposed NFL stadium in downtown Los Angeles. The purpose of both bills is to limit and short-circuit opposition to major projects.
