MTA Attacks City Tunnel Analysis
Posted Thursday February 9, 2012 – 7:16pm

By Marla Schevker and The Courier Staff

The Metropolitan Transit Authority this week attacked the scathing critique of its subway tunnel study prepared for the City Council of Beverly Hills by Exponent-Failure Analysis Associates.

The Exponent report was obtained and first reported exclusively by The Courier last Thursday. As expected, MTA CEO Art Leahy attacked the Exponent report and defended his own study.

Irresponsible and Sensationalistic
The MTA's latest response was not an "attack", but rather a rather dispassionate and entirely satisfactory response to Exponent's analysis... which itself was not a "scathing critique" as you write but a call for more research and analysis... which MTA clearly states it is preparing for the final EIR.

Shame on you, Beverly Hills Courier. Please refrain from such irresponsible and sensationalistic journalism in the future. You are doing our community a grave disservice. If this practice continues, you will soon find that we will cease to rely on you for real news.
