Man Shot To Death In North Hollywood Strip Club

(CNS) Posted Sunday July 17, 2011 – 11:33am

A 30-year-old man and his girlfriend remain behind bars today, accused in the shooting death of a 30-year-year-old man in a North Hollywood strip club, police said.

Thomas Valdez, 30, of Santa Clarita was fatally shot inside VIP Showgirls at 12147 Victory Blvd. about 10 p.m. Friday, Los Angeles police Officer Karen Rayner said.

Detectives believe Valdez got into a dispute inside the club with Forte Ramonta, 30, of North Hollywood, and Ramonta shot him, Rayner said.

Ramonta and his 22-year-old girlfriend, Ana Baez, who works at the club, fled, but police found them in a nearby park, Rayner said.

Ramonta was booked on suspicion of murder and Baez on suspicion of being an accessory to murder.

Both are being held at the LAPD's Van Nuys jail, according to Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department jail records.

Ramonta's bail was set at $1 million and Baez was being held in lieu of $500,000 bail.

No court date was immediately set for either suspect.
