Vehicle-pedestrian crash on 405 Freeway, west of Inglewood

A person died in a vehicle-pedestrian crash on the northbound San Diego (405) Freeway just west of Inglewood, prompting closure of three lanes during rush hour.

The crash was reported shortly after 4:15 a.m. south of La Tijera Boulevard, according to the California Highway Patrol.

A coroner's investigator was summoned, CHP Officer Anthony Martin said.

The closure was for the car-pool lane and two other lanes for an unknown duration, Martin said. The closure was still in effect at 6 a.m.
