With the spectacular BOLD holiday kick-off performance of Robin Thicke on Rodeo Drive Thursday, Beverly Hills Mayor Lili Bosse has barely started spreading the joy: Sunday evening at 5 p.m. in Beverly Canon Garden she joins Dr. Deepak Chopra for the Gift of Meditation in the park, and Monday, at 8:30 a.m., Walk with the Mayor she will host special guest gubernatorial candidate and former Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa as she walks to the Good Shepherd Church and the Dina Collection, home of Yossi Dina and Reelz’ Beverly Hills Pawn, the pawnbroker to the rich and famous.
This Sunday, 5-6 p.m., join the Mayor and the world-renowned alternative health expert Dr. Deepak Chopra for a meditation session of renewal and gratitude as we kick off the Holiday season with The Gift of Meditation celebration. The public is invited to a one full hour of meditation in the park to help relieve the stress and anxiety associated with the holidays.
Mayor Bosse has incorporated meditation into her life as part of her routine, an essential element that keeps this Mayor of Beverly Hills going at 110% even when she is sleeping (does she ever sleep?). Now she wants to share
Bring a blanket, a meditation pillow for comfort and wear clothes warm enough to bear the evening drop in temperature. This beautiful event is being held outside on the lawn, and it can get chilly pretty quickly as the winter sun goes down! Be prepared to experience communal bliss with your neighbors and friends, because this is something you don’t want to miss! In the spring, over 1,000 attended the Mayor’s first meditation event with Dr. Chopra.
Monday, Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa comes to Beverly Hills to take a Walk with OUR Mayor – Lili Bosse. He might learn a little about accessibility and staying close to the people he governs – lessons for sure, governor! The former LA Mayor is one of our State candidates for Governor and it will be an awesome opportunity to meet and greet this venerable icon of LA politics.
Monday’s first visit will be to the Dina Collection, where celebrity pawnbroker Yossi Dina dishes it up for Reelz TV on Beverly Hills Pawn. Truly an eclectic guy, Yossi Dina was born in Israel and grew up on a kibbutz. He served as an intelligence officer in the Israeli army and, early in his career, he sold jewelry door-to-door. He built his business from the ground up, with a mix of chutzpah, knowledge and hard work. He has earned every rung on his ladder of success, and his store is filled with wonderful things. (HINT: think HOLIDAY SHOPPING).
The Church of the Good Shepherd is Beverly Hills’ Catholic Community center. It is also the place where so many of the world’s most notable people held some of their most important life events. For example, Ronald Reagan, Rudolph Valentino, Rita Hayworth and Danny Thomas had their funeral masses there. Liz Taylor wed Conrad Hilton, Jr. there, and Jane Powell wed Geary Stephen there. It is an archival piece of the history of the nation, as well as a beloved monument of the City of Beverly Hills and a cherished home for the Catholic faithful.
Being BOLD; that is what Mayor Lili Bosse is all about! Spreading the love throughout the City with her #BHHealthyCity initiative, to make Beverly Hills the world’s healthiest city in body, mind, spirit and business! #BoldHoliday is all about keeping the spirit fresh and fascinating, with stores open two more hours on Friday and Saturday throughout the holidays, until Dec. 23, under the beautiful illumination of Baccarat Crystal and thousands of fantastic holiday lighting displays. There will be events throughout the holidays, including live music and DJs, food trucks, entertainment and all sorts of festivities to put the Ho-Ho-Ho in the Holidays! Check for great deals on holiday eats and treats, too, by clicking on the BOLD website.
So, for Sunday, bring your meditation blanket/pillow and wear warm clothes; parking is available in the Beverly Canon parking structure. 5 p.m. at Beverly Canon Garden.
For Monday, 8:30 a.m. on the Crescent side of City Hall, everyone is welcome. Parking is free at City Hall. Wear comfortable walking shoes and be ready for another adventure with Mayor Lili Bosse. “Monday is my favorite day of the week,” she says.
