Beverly Hills News – City Council Set to Interview Candidates for Vacant Seat May 31

The Beverly Hills City Council will interview 24 applicants who have submitted for the position open following the resignation of Councilmember Willie Brien.

The interview process is expected to be completed in one day on May 31. Interviews will begin at 11 a.m. in Council Chambers, and the public is welcomed. The day will begin with public comment, followed by candidate’s 3-minute opening statement. The council will then ask the same three questions of each candidate with an opportunity for follow-up. 

The order the candidates will be interviewed in was determined by a random drawing earlier Wednesday at City Hall. The order of the interviews are:

6. Lou Milkowski

7. Robert Wunderlich

8. Barry Pressman

9. Paul Bernstein

10. Gloria Seiff

12. Barbara Linder

13. Sidney Aaron Green

14. Kevin Lipton

15. Myra Demeter

16. Kathy Reims

17. Martin Geimer

18. Alexandra Polin

19. Darian Bojeaux

20. Meredith Qian

21. Kevin Davis

22. Ari Bussel

23. Ann Anooshian

24. James Fabe

There are 60 days in which the state law allows the council to replace the vacant seat – which began upon Brien’s resignation May 3.  If there is no council member selected to fill the vacancy there will be an election on Nov. 8 for the remainder of Brien’s term. 

An election in March 2017 will determine the next council member to fill the seat.
