A Complete Streets workshop featured about two hours of discussion on the community’s expectations for the future of streets in Beverly Hills.
Throughout the spring and summer of 2018, the City is seeking public input on a Complete Streets Plan that aims to improve the beauty and functionality of the City’s streets for everyone.
The goals of a Complete Street is to consider access for all users – walking, biking, transit and vehicles – for people of all ages and abilities. Monday’s meeting consisted of a presentation followed by small group discussion. The event was well-attended.
Discussions include pedestrian safety, ride-share-friendly curbs, electric vehicle charging stations, wider sidewalks, better lighting for pedestrians, bicycle safety, public transit improvement, swales and just about anything that affects traffic and transit in the City of Beverly Hills.
The workshops are part of the City’s commitment to streets that better serve the needs the community in the 21st Century. Dates for future meet-ups have not yet been announced.
