When the lock down alarm sounded at Horace Mann at 9:41 a.m. last Friday, teachers and administrative staff wasted no time in securing classrooms and ensuring the safety of students while the front office immediately phoned the Beverly Hills police. However, unlike the monthly drills at the school, where students and teachers practice lock down, earth quake and fire drills, Principal Dana Findley had no idea this one was coming.
