Beverly Hills Police Lieutenant Lincoln Hoshino released details of a hit and run fatal collision that took place Tuesday evening in Beverly Hills.
On Tuesday at about 10:56 p.m., BHPD responded to a traffic collision call in the 300-block of N. Crescent Drive.
Police discovered an unconscious man lying in the street. Officers immediately began CPR. They were relieved by Beverly Hills Fire Department paramedics, who transported the victim to an area hospital.
Later, he was pronounced deceased. The name of the 58-year-old male was not released pending notification of his family.
BHPD’s Major Collision Response Team is conducting an investigation, and based on witnesses statements and video evidence, investigators believe that there are possibly two vehicles involved that struck the victim.
He had just exited his vehicle when he was struck by first one, and then the other. Both vehicles fled the scene.
The first suspect vehicle was last seen traveling northbound in the 400-block of N. Crescent Drive and was described as a dark, or possibly black, 4-door sedan.
The second vehicle was last seen traveling southbound on Rexford Drive from S. Santa Monica Boulevard. Witnesses described it as being a mini-van or SUV that was dark in color.
The Beverly Hills Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance to identify the parties responsible for this hit and run collision.
