Beverly Hills Mayor Lili Bosse is taking her last Walk with the Mayor for 2017 on Monday and participants will be visiting Platinum Equity/Paradigm Talent Agency, 260LA Pop-Up and Cheryl Saban Designs.
Cheryl Saban, whose atelier of gemstone jewelry and hand-blown glass is carefully crafted with her own hands, is well-known in Beverly Hills, where her children attended school. The Saban family is recognized for their outstanding philanthropy, and their name graces the beautifully restored Saban Theatre, one of the City’s most beloved historic landmarks.
260LA Pop-Up is a designer fashion pop-up. The very-NYC institution is well-known in the Big Apple, and has branched out to join us in Beverly Hills, featuring designer samples for the West Coast.
Platinum Equity is a fine historic building by Master Architect Paul R. Williams, built in 1939. The English Georgian Revival was designed for Jules Stein’s headquarters for Music Corporation of America (MCA). The building was sold in 1964 to Tex Thornton, president of Litton Industries, and Williams was again hired to expand the campus. It was acquired by Platinum Equity in 2003 and, with its majestic design, occupies a prominent space in the City landscape. The Gore Brothers also house Paradigm Talent Agency in the building.
Walk with the Mayor, part of Beverly Hills Mayor Lili Bosse’s highly acclaimed Healthy City initiative, started when Bosse first took the reins as mayor during the 2014 Centennial celebration as a weekly opportunity to peruse the City on foot while conversing with friends, neighbors and City staff.
The Healthy City initiative is Mayor Bosse’s signature mission – to have the healthiest community in the world, in body, mind, spirit and business. #BHHealthyCity is a familiar hashtag for social media throughout the world, as visitors from around the globe join the Mayor for her weekly walks. Bosse’s ventures have included Yoga with the Mayor, Bike with the Mayor, Art Walk with the Mayor and Meditate with the Mayor and Deepak Chopra, the world-famous leader in alternative health.
But Walk with the Mayor is where it begins, and this weekly event is an amazing opportunity to experience “community.”
This week marks the last walk until January 8, 2018! So put on your walking shoes and make the pledge to get healthy! Just be at the Crescent Drive steps of City Hall at 8:30 a.m. on Monday morning for another great adventure with Lili Bosse. Because Walk with the Mayor is always an adventure. Walk and talk to your mayor in a casual atmosphere of fun and exercise while exploring the City with the neighborhood of Walkers. Join the fun, meet new people, and explore the community that is Beverly Hills.
“Monday is my favorite day of the week!” says Bosse. ““It’s a beautiful thing.”
