Cyclists hijacked a City Council study session Tuesday that was scheduled to consider traffic mitigations for the Santa Monica Boulevard Reconstruction project, and focusing the entire meeting on the subject of bike lanes instead.
“We began working on this one and a half weeks before the meeting,” said Mark Elliot, cyclist and founder of Better Bike, an organization formed for the purpose of getting bike lanes into Beverly Hills.

The project has been under consideration since Sept. 2013. A Blue Ribbon Panel last year gave their recommendations to the council.
