Beverly Hills Mayor Lili Bosse is going to help everyone with their New Year’s resolutions to live healthier; Walk with the Mayor will take a 4.5 mile trek to visit Theatre 40 at Beverly Hills High School and then Le Provence Patisserie and Cafe.
Theatre 40 found a home at Beverly Hills High School in 1974, with the help of grants from the City of Beverly Hills, the Beverly Hills Unified School District and the Ahmanson Foundation – and a lot of work from cast and crew. They transformed what was once a storeroom into a full-fledged theatre, designed by Broadway designer Ming Cho Lee and named for the late Reuben Cordova, Assistant Superintendent of Education for the Beverly Hills School District. With award-winning productions and fabulous shows, the project has become the pride of the City.
As for Le Provence, this award-winning bakery has won the “Best Cupcake” award in Brentwood, has been rated the #1 French Bakery award on Yelp, Best Bakeries by Los Angeles Magazine, Zagat Beautiful Pastries . . . And the list goes on. Their store can now be found at LAX in the American Airlines terminal 4.
After a brief hiatus for the Holiday Season, the Mayor will be back Monday to lead walkers in pursuit of her Healthy City initiative. Walks are for anyone who wishes to join the group by simply showing up ready to walk on the Crescent steps of City Hall on Mondays at 8:30 a.m.
So ambitious walkers, come and walk and celebrate the first Monday of the New Year with cheer and conviction!
Friendly reminder, however, that January 19, Martin Luther King Day, will be a buy. No walks that day.
