Beverly Hills students Jonah Okum, Sara Okum, Gabe Bergher and Eli Okum, along with the help of the Beverly Hills Women’s Club, collected and distributed backpacks and school supplies for 84 children at the Westwood Transitional Village and the Bessie Pregerson Center of the Salvation Army. The Transitional Housing Village is a housing complex and pre-school located in West Los Angeles; its mission is to reunite homeless families into their own residence, rehabilitate and find work for the parents – all while allowing the children to maintain a normal life and attend local schools. By providing these backpacks, the children can start school with the supplies needed so they can focus on their education.
