Newly-installed Mayor Lili Bosse is taking her “Healthy City” initiative to a whole new level.
Tuesday night at the City Council installation ceremony at the Academy of Motion Picture Arts And Sciences in Beverly Hills, Bosse announced that Beverly Hills will partner with alternative medicine pioneer Deepak Chopra to lead a new Healthy City program, including meditative “Soul Sessions.”
Chopra is a renowned author, public speaker and alternative medicine advocate.
In addition to a partnership with Chopra, Bosse will resume her popular “Walk With The Mayor” series every Monday morning.
Health isn’t all Bosse is focused on during her term. She’s pledged to be a friend to local business, and advocated for Golden Triangle businesses being allowed to stay open later than their traditional 6 p.m. closing time this summer.
The new Mayor is in talks with the Rodeo Drive Committee President Mark Tronstein and the Beverly Hills Conference and Visitors Bureau (BHCVB) to make all of the Triangle businesses accessible after hours.
Bosse also said that weekly “Mayor’s Cabinet” meetings will now be televised, and the popular “60 Second Shoutout”, which each week highlights a local business, will return to City Council meetings.
“Every resident is important, whether you pay rent or pay mortgage,” Bosse said. “I am honored to do my part in the best city in the world.”
