Providence Saint John’s Health Center will host a free community lecture for men, women and families on the latest treatments for hyperhidrosis or “sweaty palms,” from 7-8:30 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 1 at the center, 2121 Santa Monica Blvd., Santa Monica.
About 220 million people suffer from excessive, uncontrollable sweating, The condition of excessively sweaty hands typically begins early in childhood. It can be embarrassing, annoying and adversely affect a person’s confidence.
Helping people learn about the condition—including symptoms, myths and advanced treatments —will be presenters:
• Dr, Robert McKenna Jr., chief of thoracic surgery and chairman and professor of thorcic surgery, John Wayne Cancer Institute (JWCI), Providence Saint John’s Health Center.
• Dr. Osita Onugha, JWCI thoracic surgeon.
