Rapper Kendrick Lamar was the huge winner at Monday evening’s presentation of the 2017 MTV Video Music Awards.
The Compton-born Lamar’s hit video “Humble” raked in six awards — video of the year, best hip hop, best cinematography, best direction, best visual effects and best cinematography.
Lamar received eight nominations in all.
Singer Ed Sheeran was selected artist of the year. Khalid was voted best new artist.
Pop diva Pink received the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award, honoring her “trailblazing impact” on the music industry, fashion and pop culture.
The traditionally raucous ceremony, hosted by singing star Katy Perry, was held at the Forum in Inglewood.
