In a report issued by the National Park Service (NPS), the Santa Monica National Recreation Area brings 633,000 visitors a year who spent $26 million in 2013 and provided 332 local jobs.
The U.S. Geological Survey economists conducted the analysis with the NPS.
The report also said that that the most money was spent on lodging, then food and beverages, and gas and oil. Admissions fees only accounted for 10.3 percent of spending and souvenirs and other expenses, another 10 percent.
Restaurants, bars and lodging were the largest employers.
