Happy New Year! Lets give a shelter pet a new home this year! Just before Christmas the Honolulu Animal Services adopted out the last pet in their shelter! Maybe we can make that a goal, for at least a day!

Our featured pets can be found at the West Los Angeles Animal Shelter, located at 11361 West Pico Blvd., LA CA 90064. You can see all of the wonderful animals waiting for adoption or foster care on their website at www.laanimalservices.com. If you wish to inquire about these featured pets, please ask for them by their ID numbers. The shelter can be reached at 888-452-7381.

From time to time, the Courier receives urgent notices about special animals who need foster care immediately. The following notice came from Tiffani Hamiliton, New Hope Coordinator for the Foster Program at North Central Animal Shelter, 3201 Lacy St. Los Angeles, CA 90031. If you can help Puma, please call 213-435-2238.

URGENT: PUMA (A1079254) is an inquisitive, older guy who likes nothing more than to stretch his legs at the park. He’d make a sensible exercise buddy who’s happy to take things at a leisurely pace. At a mature 8 years of age, this lovely 78 lbs black and tan male German Shepherd Dog is past the puppy stage and is looking for a quiet home where he can see out his golden years with his own special human. When volunteers first met him, he was a bit shy but once he got to know us struck us as a sweet and mild-mannered fella who’d suit a mature family that will help build his confidence. Puma came to the shelter on November 30, 2016 as an OWNER SURRENDER for “ill”. We don’t know if that meant the owner was ill or Puma was ill but we do know with a little trust, Puma has whole lot of love left to give and life to live! If think you have the perfect home for Puma, we’d love to hear from you. To watch a short video of Puma, please click here: https://youtu.be/jDgBhixvggU
